A good vision statement comes from the heart.
There are three sections to a well communicated vision statement, Core Beliefs and Values, Purpose and Current Mission.
The Core Beliefs and Values are the cornerstones of our business. SoloSkills uses "Take Care of Your Health and Wealth Will Follow". Other businesses are based on ethical or even religious principles. What matters here is that these are beliefs that come from your heart and that you know you will never act in contradiction to, your employees and customers can count on that.
The Purpose is the direction to perfection for your business. One that can never be reached, only endlessly strived for. Sam Walton uses "To Be the Best Damn Retailer in the World" for WalMart, it’s not meant to be achieved, only sought.
The Current Mission statement are the concrete goals of specific objectives that the business is going to meet in a specified period of time, usually three to five years. Opening five new locations and bringing them all to $60,000 a month in revenue within four years, might be a good Mission.
